PETROF Concert
Do you enjoy songs of Jaroslav Uhlíř? Come and sign along! This concert is for young and older audiences alike, both of whom will be treated with the most enjoyable classroom lesson in the world. The composer himself, who will be playing a PETROF instrument, will give you a chance to sing along to some of his most famous songs, including “Není nutno”, „Severní vítr“, „Ani k stáru“ and many more!

The audiences can look forward to hearing some of the most unforgettable songs that Jaroslav Uhlíř composed during his 40-year-long career, mostly in cooperation with Zdeněk Svěrák.
Jaroslav Uhlíř:
Jaroslav Uhlíř, author of many famous melodies and songs, was born September 14, 1945 in Prague. Since the age of 17, he frequently performed as a pianist in café orchestras. Later he worked for Eva Pilarová, became the member of Prominence and Faraon groups and started to collaborate with lyricists Zdeněk Svěrák, Karel Šíp and Miloň Čepelka.
Uhlíř began his studies at the People’s Art School, today known as the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, in the 1970s, originally pursuing a degree in conducting, which later changed to composing. He graduated in 1981 at the age of 36. Between the years 1978 and 1986, Uhlíř hosted a TV show “Hitšaráda” together with Karel Šíp.
In his cooperation with Zdeněk Svěrák, which spans over several decades, Uhlíř writes and interprets children’s songs that are released on original albums. Since 1976, Jaroslav Uhlíř also composes scenic music for films, some of which include Ať žijí duchové, Tři veteráni, Jak básníci neztrácejí naději, Potkal jsem ho v ZOO, O zapomnětlivém černokněžníkovi, Utopím si ho sám či Vrchní, prchni!, fairytales Princové jsou na draka, S čerty nejsou žerty, Lotrando a Zubejda or Elixír a Halíbela, and TV shows such as Když se slunci nedaří and Medvědi nic nevědí.
