Don’t miss the concert of Ondřej Havelka and his Melody Makers, who have once again decided to perform for you some of the most beautiful songs that the 30’s and 40’s swing can offer. Furious, virtuous performances are followed by immortal sweet melodies. Blistering American swing makes audiences get up from their chairs while Czech songs make the members of the audience relax. Or vice versa. So don’t hesitate and come to enjoy this evening, because jazz and swing was fun, is fun and will continue to be fun!

Audiences can look forward to hearing some of the most spectacular crowd-pleasing hits during this concert. These hits will be accompanied by some new swing tracks that will undoubtedly find their way to the audiences’ hearts! The varied repertoire includes attractive tracks from a wide range of genres, from Hollywood musicals to top performances of swing’s big-bands.
Ondřej Havelka:
Havelka has been involved in the interpretation of jazz and popular music of the 20’s and 30’s ever since his student years, as a singer, dancer and a tap dancer. He recorded six albums with the Original Prague Syncopated Orchestra, received several awards and in 1995 founded the swing Big-band Melody Makers, with which he performs to this day.
Melody Makers:
The band specializes in authentic interpretation of popular early and peak swing music from the early 1930s to the early 1940s. Their varied repertoire includes attractive songs from a broad spectrum of this genre, sweet and hot, from Hollywood musicals to top performances of swing’s big-bands. Energetic jazz performance of all of the group’s members is enhanced by their feel for a show, insight and humor. The stunning play of the orchestra is even further intensified by excellent performances of their soloist, who is at the same time the artistic director of the entire band – singer, speaker and dancer Ondřej Havelka.
