Pavel Šporcl, the most popular Czech violinist of today, ventures into the most vigorous waters of the violin repertoire on his new album Paganiniana and a subsequent tour.
Pavel Šporcl recorded the new album Paganiniana during 2020. After several records outside the field of classical music, this album returns into inner musical spheres and repertoire that is closest to him. He chose compositions that are among the most difficult in solo violin repertoire and are the privilege of only a few world violinists. These compositions include Paganini´s Capriccio No. 24, Milstein´s Paganiniana, Ernst´s Last Rose, Schnittke´s work A Paganini and his own virtuosic variation on the song Where is my home. Undoubtedly, the world premiere of recording of the composition Capriccio of the first great Czech violin virtuoso Josef Slavík and Cadence for a violin concert of N. Paganini from the greatest Czech violinist in history Jan Kubelík, are very meritorious deeds.
The album is released in August 2021 (worldwide in October 2021) at the world-wide known German company Hänssler Classic https://haensslerprofil.de/. Pavel Šporcl thus ranked in the catalogue of recordings alongside such world stars of classical music as conductors Herbert Blomstedt, Sir Colin Davis, Christian Thielemann, pianist Gerhard Oppitz or violin colleagues Christian Tetzlaff and Frank Peter Zimmermann. Pavel Šporcl is currently discussing other recordings for this exceptional label. The traditional tour during autumn months follows the album Paganiniana. The program is based on recorded compositions so that listeners can hear and enjoy this outstanding repertoire. Tour stops include regional and district cities in the Czech Republic. Owing to an intimate repertoire, the concerts will take place in more intimate halls.
The guest of concerts is a guitarist and a composer Lukáš Sommer, with whom Pavel Šporcl play compositions of N. Paganini and L. Sommer. Paganini himself was an excellent guitarist, and he wrote many of his compositions just for the combination of these two instruments.
