Photographic etudes of Jan Schejbal:
A unique large-format project with collages of cities and abstractions began after his years in Paris and New York. Photographs reflect an original perception of the world, which is, from the beginning, characteristic of his work. They masterfully capture its genius loci. Schejbal does not capture the moment and the atmosphere. He transforms classical photography into an original puzzle of seemingly eclectic moments of life and sensitively pushed the boundaries for new visual experiences.
In his collection of collages, he offers the observer space for his imagination. He made a completely original style and became, although loyal to photography, an influential part of modern fine art. His collages strongly evoke the era of the Czech avant-garde of the thirties, the time of Karel Teig or František Vobecký. Jan Schejbal again proves that he is one of the top Czech photographers.
Jan Schejbal:
He was born in 1975, graduated from the Institute of Creative Photography of the Silesian University in Opava. Jan has won many awards from the Czech Press Photo competition and the prestigious Grant Prague. He is one of the most prominent Czech photographers (Forbes, independent work).
