PETROF Has Celebrated 100 Years of the Republic
The PETROF company, headquartered in the city of Hradec Králové, has joined those who have commemorated the significant historical anniversary of 100 years since the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic.
The general public could enjoy a rich cultural programme which, continuing in the spirit of this summer, included concerts, exhibitions, but also the revelation of a jubilee instrument. Thousands of visitors could therefore enjoy themselves to the full in the trade and cultural centre PETROF Gallery.

100 Years of the Republic in Colours
- My Fatherland—Up Close and Out Loud
The enchanting world of art and the most up-to-date technologies of audiovisual installation, whose intersection is an extraordinary collage offering new experiences during a view of iconic pieces of Czech musical literature.
- Life in the PETROF Factory
Republic themes in the corner of PETROF Café. Revelation of the history of the life in the PETROF Factory 100 years ago.
- 100 Years since the Establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic
An exhibition of the students from the Department of Art, Visual Culture and Textile Studies from the Faculty of Pedagogy of the University of Hradec Králové. The exposition reflected contemporary topics, which presented in various forms the stance of an individual on both the past and the present in a given society.
- Faces of the First Republic
The portraits of 14 significant personalities of the Hradec Králové region, who participated in the establishment and formation of the democratic Czechoslovakia, were exhibited in Antonín Petrof’s Hall. The person responsible for their final form was the academic sculptor, production designer and artist Jana Bačová Kroftová.

The revelation of the jubilee instrument for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic. The piano ‘Republika’ was revealed in the musical café PETROF Café in the presence of the company’s CEO, Zuzana Ceralová Petrofová.

Tuned to the Republic’s Jubilee Anniversary
- Weekend Full of Jazz
The Czech singer and musical actor Tomáš Savka together with Jiří Pavlík’s BigBand has introduced compositions by world-renowned artists as interpreted in a Czech swing style for the occasion of 100 years of the republic. The Sunday evening continued in the celebrations ‘Through the Eyes of Jazz’ with the most prestigious pianists, among whom were Petr Malásek, Karel Košárek and the winners of the competition ‘Pianist of the Year’.
- Celebrating Together—Playing Together
A concert full of eights was held in the interpretation of classical music masters. In PETROF Gallery, we welcomed Duo EGIA and Duo PETROF. The evening was dedicated to compositions by authors such as Bohuslav Martinů, Bedřich Smetana or Antonín Dvořák. The concert ‘Celebrating Together—Playing Together’ was concluded with an eight-hand performance on a single piano, by which PETROF finished the celebrations of this beautiful anniversary.
