Pupils from art schools performed alongside Ivo Kahánek

An extraordinary piano recital of the “Czech Piano Expedition” project took place on September 3, 2020, at the PETROF Gallery in Hradec Králové.

Pupils from Hradec Králové’s art schools performed on a PETROF grand piano, alongside one of the most impressive artists of his generation, the winner of the Angel award and the BBC Music Magazine award, Ivo Kahánek.

Throughout the evening everyone could hear compositions from the repertoire of classical Czech music, for example, the great musicians Jan Baptist Vaňhal, Stanislav Hochel, Vítězslav Novák, Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Leoš Janáček and many others. Behind the grand piano sat Antonín Staša (ZUŠ Habrmanova), Natali Shejbalová and Samuel Shejbal (ZUŠ Střezina). The grand finale of the evening was a piano virtuoso Ivo Kahánek with his phenomenal performance.
